Access and methodology

One account. A consistent site evidence standard.

Atlas brings British Columbia infrastructure and land evidence together around a selected location. Its map is available today. Public API access and a ChatGPT plugin are planned; they are not currently available to connect.

What counts as a site assessment?

A successful screen of a new site counts once within its allowance period. Atlas uses a trusted unique mapped parcel when one can be identified, a validated explicit footprint when supplied, or the selected coordinate as a fallback. Reopening the same counted site, comparing micro, small and large profiles or generating its report uses no additional site within that period. Individual datasets and report pages are not billed separately.

An explicit project footprint is a separate study site. Changing its shape can count as another site; reordering its vertices or moving the pin within the identical footprint does not. When no unique parcel can be resolved, a different selected coordinate can count separately. These screening identifiers do not establish ownership or surveyed legal boundaries. Custom footprints are bounded to 500 hectares and 2,000 vertices. An area search is not an unlimited province-wide assessment.

Failed essential evidence checks do not consume a site. Valid empty queries, legitimate coverage gaps and unconfirmed service capacity are not technical failures.

Current and proposed allowances

Free accounts currently include 10 new sites per UTC calendar month and one user. For regular development teams, proposed Scale access is 1,000 locations and five users. Enterprise volume is individually scoped. Paid entitlements, team workspaces and automated billing are not enabled in this release. A recorded plan preference does not change your active access.

Visitors can explore 3 successful new sites in a rolling 30-day period without an account. The rolling period begins with the first usable screen and does not reset each day. A free account or authorized preview is required to generate a personal report. Existing counted locations remain accessible within the allowance period; no automatic overage charge applies.

Planned ChatGPT and API access

The intended integration will link to the same Atlas account and site allowance used by the website. Changing channels will not create a second allowance or a ChatGPT-specific surcharge. It will return useful evidence, source dates, project assumptions and explicit unknowns. The integration still requires account authorization, testing and publication review.

Directory publication and proactive suggestions are separate decisions. Atlas does not promise inclusion in relevant conversations or access to anyone’s chat history. Research results will not be disguised as advertisements, and no project enquiry will be submitted automatically.

The same evidence standard at every tier

Every available observation retains its source and uncertainty. Atlas maintains 153 public source connections and defines 420 possible site-screening checks. These checks are applied to the selected site or parcel and include counts, distances, published records and site calculations. Some apply only in particular municipalities, so they are not that many populated results for every property. The number of useful observations depends on location, coverage, freshness and source availability. An unknown is not a favourable finding. Public evidence does not establish available utility MW, water entitlement, commercial fibre service or development permission.

The free automated screen uses public data. Authorized private and paid data sources, where available, may be examined within a separate commissioned review subject to an agreed scope. They are not automatic feeds in the public workspace. The review records the source, date, site and project scope of the evidence, along with conditions and unresolved questions; it does not establish utility capacity or development approval.

Record availability, permissions and any third-party fees are agreed before work begins. Restricted ICI Society, province-wide BC Assessment and Spacelist feeds are not included merely because an account selects a paid plan. Client-confidential material is never shared between engagements.
